In class, we went over how to start a micro blog on Twitter and how to follow RSS feeds using Google Reader.
Both of these web apps let us stay on top of interesting happenings on the internet in a convenient manner without demanding a lot of time to do so. Twitter is a much more participatory and social experience and can be a ton of fun with you develop a good network of followers/followees. Google Reader and RSS feeds are much more passive, although many blogs and content with RSS feeds do allow for comments.
If you need help setting up your Google Reader, please look at this tutorial.
