This Tuesday, we did another brainstorming exercise by responding to some in class questions. In our blogs, we enumerated our skills and interests through some self reflection. We did not limit ourselves to technical or creative skills nor to media related interests. By including everything that gets us excited and makes us happy and then putting it along side our skills and talents, we are able to see more clearly the possible connections and way in which we can use those skills to pursue a career in an industry that we are passionate about.
We asked a classmate to review our blog post with this exercise in it and draw their own conclusions about the intersections of our interests and talents. In the comments, we responded to their findings and suggestions and then posted our own conclusions as to how we see these assets influencing our career choices. After all this reflection inward, we took our findings and looked up five companies for whom we would like to some day work. After learning that most major companies list job opportunities on their websites, we then set forth to locate these links on the five companies sites and link to them on our blogs for future use.
